Excuse Us While We Go Shop Madewell’s Irresistible Spring Capsule Collection
Oh Madewell, you’ve done it again! The Myfashionfinance editor-favorite brand just released a capsule collection of amazing pieces for spring, and we’re ready to do some serious online shopping.
The new collection is a joint effort between Madewell and Claire Lampert and Stacy Daily of the cult-favorite online shop, Where I Was From. The 12-piece limited-edition collection features “modern closet essentials with a throwback vibe,” according to a press release. “The collection includes garment dyed jeans in a sun-washed palette, graphic tees and white denim pieces that can be worn now and into the warmer months.”
“We have long admired WIWF’s way of styling and updating vintage pieces,” said Madewell head designer Joyce Lee. “It felt natural for us to work together on a capsule inspired by some of their favorite vintage finds.” Vintage finds like a pair of 40-year-old jeans. “To recreate the feeling of that pair for Madewell, we used a dead stock broken twill fabric from the 70s and washed it to give it a well-worn feel,” explained Daily.
Both Daily and Lampert embark on a vintage sourcing trip out west twice a year, and almost always squeeze in a visit to the lavender fields just outside of Albuquerque. In 2016, they headed out to Los Poblanos Inn to dream up the pieces for Madewell. “Like the respite of Los Poblanos, a lavender farm set in the New Mexican desert, this collection is fun, unexpected and optimistic,” said Lampert. We couldn’t agree more!
